Praise Jesus

I categorize music in 3 different ways. Either it is of the type that makes me want to rip all of my clothes off (take that however you want it) , dance like the tin man maniac that I am or Praise Jesus! I just purchased Betty Lavette's I've Got My Own Hell to Raise and it makes me want to do all 3. When I listen to it I subconsciously close my eyes, shake my head in agreement and raise my hand to repent all of my sins. Hallelujah!

I recently became hooked on Sam Cooke and was holding his greatest hits album rescued from the bargain bin at Tower. After wandering from listening station to listening station, Elvis Costello's sticker review name dropping Lucinda compelled me to preview the disc. They are all modern covers ranging from Sinead O'Connor to Dolly Parton to Fionna Apple. I hogged the station and listened to the entire thing with a the cold, hard crackhead's stare. The Tower Records' staff was worried. Sam Cooke, you insincere bastard!
